I love looking down on Germany and its notoriously shitty trains, but honestly, it's the best in class. And yes, that includes Switzerland. Our trains are slow as fuck and we invest 4 times as much per capita. Sure, tunnels are expensive, but if Germany had the same throughput and slow speeds as Switzerland, it would run a lot smoother.
